PILSNER & POPCORN


If you’re going to have a movie marathon popcorn is a must. Microwave popcorn is ok, but an air popper is the way to go. I bought one at a thrift store about six years ago for about five bucks and it’s still going strong. While the popcorn is popping, take one tablespoon of unsalted butter, one tablespoon of hot sauce, a pinch of salt, and a dash of Worcestishire sauce in a small bowl, microwave on medium heat until butter melts. Grab a basting brush and dab it in the butter and brush the popcorn. Just like that Buffalo Popcorn! Spicy popcorn needs a beer that is simple and clean. For me the Trumer Pilsner fits that bill. Brewed in Salzburg, Austria and Berkeley, California, Trumer has faint hints of honey and fresh baked bread, a lively effervescent carbonation, with a nice dry finish. Like it says on the neck, “Einfach Leben”, meaning “Simply Live”!

    I found that a brown ale goes well with popcorn that just has a little butter and popcorn salt. It's a great combination of salty and sweetness.
