Bock | 5.70% ABV

Beer notes:

A fantastic rendition of a traditional Bock. Loaded with malt flavor and just a little bitterness. Malt brings all the flavor to the table in this medium bodied beer. With very little hop flavor and a slight aroma on the nose. Very clean and crisp for such a dark beer, but that’s typical for a bottom fermented beer.

Pairing notes:

We had pulled pork for dinner topped with homemade cole slaw. A very traditional pairing puts pork products together with lager beers. Although, this was a tad different give we had pulled pork and not pork sausages. Also, we had a Bock and not a traditional Lager. The link up of the food and beer was fantastic given the loads of malt in the brew. All the sweet malts complimented the pork sweetness very nicely, while the cole slaw gave the sandwich a nice refreshing lightness much like the crispness of the beer. The two played well together, linking up and complimenting the beer and food flavors perfectly.

beer + food = Barleydine
